Dear Neighbors and Friends,
I hope you had a meaningful International Women's Day. My conversations with women in our community are a powerful reminder of why this election matters. Leadership should reflect and support the people who make this community strong.
At last week's mayoral candidates forum, time ran out before I could finish my closing remarks. I wanted to share my full Closing Statement with you below:
"Thank you again for the honor of serving as your Vice Mayor, and for allowing me to show why I am best suited to be your Mayor.
Surfside is my home. Growing up, we were one of the few religious Jewish families in the neighborhood, at a time when there were no kosher restaurants, and our synagogue and schools were located in Miami Beach.
We loved the safe, small-town feeling, riding our bicycles on the streets, enjoying the Community Center, and walking to the beach.
That sense of belonging shaped who I am, and it is why I am here for everyone, residents young and old, business owners, visitors, and the dedicated staff who work every day to keep our Town running.
Two years ago, Surfside faced division. Development was fast tracked, while community projects were stalled. We lost key respected employees who had served our town honorably.
We inherited chaos.
Since returning to office, we have restored stability, professionalism, and focus. We completed 96th Street Park, advanced the Abbott drainage project, and we finalized the design of the Surfside Memorial to honor those we lost and the bravery of those who stood beside us.
We achieved this through steady, experienced leadership, quietly, consistently, and with determination. That is the leadership our town needs now.
This election is about trust and direction. It is about continuing leadership that understands how government works, values collaboration, and respects everyone, to guarantee what matters most.
I have built the relationships. I have learned the process. And I have worked for our community every single day. I am here to continue that work.
I am not running for personal ambition. I am running to keep Surfside safe, thriving, and united, to celebrate what makes our community special, embrace our differences respectfully, and inspire a sense of belonging for everyone.
Surfside is in good hands and experienced leadership is essential now, to guide the new commission with a smooth transition, and keep our town moving forward.
We need leadership that is firm, kind, and honest. And right now, more than ever, we must separate fact from fiction.
Too often, the most qualified candidate becomes targeted with false claims, while dark money tries to influence our local election behind the scenes.
Let me be clear: Surfside belongs to all of us, longtime residents, new families, and neighborhood businesses.
It does not belong to an anonymous, developer-driven PAC hiding behind the name “Surfside First”. Our Town’s future should never be shaped by outside interests disguising themselves as community.
My campaign is built on honesty and commitment. I have been here. I have listened. I have worked. And I am ready to continue.
March is Women’s History month, elect a woman to do the job.
And on Election Day, let's send one clear message: Surfside’s future will be decided by the people who live here, not by the people who want to profit here.
This is our Town. That is Our Choice. And together, that is our victory.
Thank you."
